Urtasun, on the Sijena paintings: "There is a sentence that must be carried out, and it is up to the MNAC to decide how."

The Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun , has referred to the court ruling that forces the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC) to return the Sijena paintings to Aragon, stating that "there is a ruling that must be complied with and from here it is up to the MNAC board of trustees to decide how."
"It's up to the technicians to figure out how to do it," he told reporters this Sunday during a visit to Mataró (Barcelona) for its Fiesta Mayor (Mattar Festival), which was also attended by the Minister of the Presidency of the Generalitat, Albert Dalmau.
"This has been our position from the beginning, and now it's up to the MNAC board of trustees to make the appropriate decisions in this regard," the minister reiterated.
As reported by the Assemblea Nacional Catalana (ANC) of Mataró via X, they welcomed Urtasun with signs against the ruling, with the legend 'Urtasun, your silence will kill culture'.
This Monday, Culture experts from the Government of Aragon will travel to Barcelona to discuss the transfer of the mural paintings from the Monastery of Sijena to their original location in the monastery at the MNAC (National Museum of Contemporary Art), in compliance with the Supreme Court ruling requiring the Generalitat (Catalan Government) to return the works.
